Type 2 diabetes reversal journey first morning BS readings 10.6 mmol/L not a good start but expected as I have been ignoring everything what I have been told by my diabetic nurse and dietitian. In my case I have to keep the readings between 5 – 10 mmol/L. From now on I am going to be on (LCHF) low carb high fat (WOE) way of eating. Current weight 156 kg, expecting to ditch around 50-60kg.

I am not going to lie here, it is hard not eat all those things that I have been eating all my life(bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, fruit etc.)

All these has to be excluded as they are high in carbs and therefore spikes my blood sugars to the sky. Finding alternatives is going to be a challenge but I believe that everything can be replaced with healthy alternative.

The target for daily carb intake is below 100g for the first week and then reducing it rapidly to a target of 20-30g. Just as example one slice of white bread Type 2 diabetes reversal journeyhas 22,4g of carbs per slice(swap to Burgen Soy & Linseed bread 11g carbs per slice) , so if you had a sandwich which has two slices of bread then you had already half of the total daily carb intake and you still have more food to eat.

There is so much that is going trough my head at the moment. I don’t even know what to write here. Guess that it will need to settle little bit and do some more digging with the almighty google. I did try to ask my GP and DN(diabetic nurse) but have been given zero to none information’s on this. Seems like they just want you on  medications and not really deal with the situation.

Expecting More Information About Type 2 Diabetes, my bad.

Just been given lots of leaflets to read without any explanation. I have even been referred to speak with dietitian where I have been told that it is OK to eat bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, fruit etc, but to cat the portions to half(I would go so hungry, so it would make me eat more often) which would make me to gain more weight instead of ditching it.  Maybe they need some updates on the researches that has been done lately.

Remember to drink a lot of water all the time!!!

NOTE: I can stand just plain water, it doesn’t satisfies my needs and thirst. So, I have decided to buy Soda Stream and it was one of the best purchases for a long time.
